Three <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#FF0000;">Severe Thunderstorm Warnings </span>were issued for Chaves County Sunday night as well. One <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#FF0000;">Severe Thunderstorm</span> passed to the west of Roswell, one went north of Roswell, and one went east of them. They had three very close calls with severe weather. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#FF0000;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#FF0000;">Even though I had been talking about the possibility of severe weather here for days</span>...I doubt that many people who live here, actually believed that it was going to happen. I can't say that I blame them, <i>we just do not have very many <a href="http://www.srh.noaa.gov/oun/?n=safety-severe-safetyplan"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#FF0000;">severe thunderstorms</span></a> in March, they are rare indeed.</i> See the <a href="http://www4.ncdc.noaa.gov/cgi-win/wwcgi.dll?wwEvent~Storms"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#3333FF;">NCDC Storm Event</span></a> Page for details, there aren't that many for March. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Our current <a href="http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/analysis_monitoring/enso_advisory/index.shtml"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#3333FF;">El Nino</span></a> is still going strong, but it is slowly weakening with time. It is forecast to last through the spring. I am betting on a continuation of the current stormy pattern, rolling right into a stormy spring here in SE NM. <a href="http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/analysis_monitoring/enso_advisory/index.shtml"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#3333FF;">El </span></a><a href="http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/analysis_monitoring/enso_advisory/index.shtml"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#3333FF;">Nino</span></a> Springs can be wild around here, we can and often do see an increase in <i><a href="http://www.srh.noaa.gov/oun/?n=safety-severe-safetyplan"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#FF0000;">severe thunderstorms</span></a></i><a href="http://www.srh.noaa.gov/oun/?n=safety-severe-safetyplan"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></a>in SE NM, during moderate to strong <a href="http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/analysis_monitoring/enso_advisory/index.shtml"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#3333FF;">El Nino's</span></a>.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#FF0000;"><i><b>I think we are in for a very active severe weather season this spring here in SE NM!
